Attorney Dorothy Hairston was born in Lawton, OK. She graduated from Robert B. Glenn High School in Kernersville, NC in 1995 with honors. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from NC Central University in Durham, NC with honors in 1999. She earned her juris doctorate from NC Central University School of Law in 2002. Upon graduation from law school, she worked as an associate attorney until she opened her own law practice in the fall of 2004. In addition to her law practice, she has been an adjunct law professor at NC Central University School of Law since 2006. Dorothy strives to be a “voice” for the “voiceless” and to make a difference in the lives of all her clients. She has a special love for students and is always excited to mentor students and young people who have an interest in law. Dorothy lives by the motto, “It is not where you stand, but in what direction you are moving.” She lives her life motivating others to move in the right direction. She does this through strong community ties. She is affiliated with the following groups/organization:
